"Among all the equals, some are more equal than others."
Repeatedly, I have heard people complain of how insensitive the rich among us behave towards the general folks. You know, the poor-not-so-rich and don't-have-guys. They pour aspersions on the rich dudes for getting more richer and pity themselves for just trying so hard to survive in an economy that the rich have made to be very corrupt and bad.
On the side of the rich, they complain bitterly of the insensitivity of the poor towards their own progress. The poor don't want to help themselves and in spite of the millions that we have given away to help them, they still remain poor. The rich blame the poor for their predicaments while the poor cry out to God to kill the rich and salvage their life.
MBN is in the middle.
And that is why I will explain to both the rich and the poor what happens when one becomes really rich, powerful and affluent.
First, the rich always have a sense of entitlement. They believe that somebody, somewhere, somehow and by any means is owing them and must pay....be it nature, hard work,God...whatever...they believe that the world owes them. And in pursuit of the payment of that debt, they continue to get rich by whatever means possible. And least I forget,to some or many of them;the law was made to regulate the poor. Don't forget that.
Now in trying to alleviate the poverty in their society, they set up NGOs and organise charity balls. Funny enough, because of their busy schedule, they leave these NGOs in the hands of people they feel that will help in getting the help across to the poor masses.
Those people don't.
The rich do not board public transports so they won't have the luxury of seeing park beggars. To some of them,if you can't afford bread;buy cake...really? Many will never know that the millions they invest each year in their NGO is been squandered by the manager of the scheme. The poor think the rich do not want to help them. The rich feel the poor are just being jealous and suffering from poverty mentality (because they're poor anyway) by not appreciating what they are doing to help them. In between the lines, one man and his cohorts are draining the money and using it for their own personal purposes. Between the poor and the rich;is a middle class man who swore in his anger that the poor will remain poor.
When you become rich, you see less of poor people and that is true. You will begin to dine and wine with men who comprehend state, economic and bilateral relationships. Believe me,its cool to be rich and in control. But when you get there and want to help the poor, don't leave it in the hands of a desperate middle man. Try your possible best to be directly involved or oversee the process. Because if this is not done, the poor will continue to remain poor and despise the rich. The rich will in turn continue to detest the poor and pity them. While the middle man is busy enjoying the wealth and resources that was meant for the poor.
Till we get to the Promised Land,I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
