Welcome to the first edition of our e-meeting. We have made progress with the Ladies Monday night meeting and the Guys Wednesday night meeting so the Anambra under-25 Friday night meeting is a new one to indulge my young readers. I intend to discuss issues relevant to us and ways we can make progress.
First, being under the age of 25 comes with a lot of uncertainties and most times, this is the time we make decisions that make or mar us. We have rich friends that reside in GRA, Akpaka layout, Housing Estate Fegge, Ngozika and Udoka estates. We also come in contact with the not so rich from other neighbourhoods in our state. Or just maybe, we are the poor ones. It pains when, at this stage of great life decisions, you see your mates shopping at Shoprite (I don't mean those who snap only pictures ooo). Roban stores will soon open in Awka and you see people spending money and making you feel dejected. Do you curse your life? Do you curse your parents or your life's circumstances?
What do you resolve to do? Do you resolve to become a tout? Spend the little you have to meet up with your rich peers? Play Nairabet and hope to win big? Or probably look out for a young lady to confuse with love and relationship to get cheap sex? Do you search for a rich guy to milk and foot your bills? Bills you can't even maintain on your own.
Since this is our first session, I want to remind us that at this stage of your life, you can decide what happens to you after what happens to you. Hope you comprehend my point? We have so many opportunities in this time and age. We just don't have to sit down and keep on complaining about what our parents and elders did wrong. Yet at any slightest opportunity, we dash them awards and look out for small chops.
If you truly believe we can make our lives better and become the best at whatever it is we are doing in this state, you need to embark on this journey with me. It is a long and tedious one but I promise great rewards at the end. In our subsequent bulletins, I will relate areas of life we shall be focusing on. See you next Friday.
If you are clubbing this night, uche gi di ya ooo.
Till we get to the Promised Land, I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
