In your daily routine, you have heard many wise Nigerians refer to this wonderful quote; "...that Nigeria shall know no peace till the son of a nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody." Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce to you that the time is at hand for that peace. Because the son of a man who built himself from scratch has risen up to redefine leadership and give back hope to youths in Anambra State.
Nonso Smart Okafor, a young man with a heart of gold has dedicated his life and time to help every young person he comes across. Hundred of stories about his magnanimity have been told in our society and this time, he wishes to tell more stories by impacting positively on the lives of millions of Anambra State Youths as he stands in for the election as the State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
With experience spanning over ten years in divergent leadership and volunteering positions, Nonso's ideology is centered on giving back the future of the youths to the youths. Through creative social engineering, exchange programs with donor agencies and increased awareness of opportunities in agriculture, he hopes to rewrite the story and journey of youths in Anambra State. Being a Senior Comrade of high repute in the state, he has been tested at different times and has never been found wanting.
In Anambra State today, what the youths need is a young person with purpose, vision and clear path for the future. Nonso is a conglomeration of these qualities and so much more. He is the right man that will not just talk the talk but will go the length to work the talk. As a seasoned entrepreneur with business establishments around the State, this young enigma from Nnewi is your perfect stickler for motivation and excellence. He is not like our everyday youths who walk up and down looking for politicians to dash them small stipends. He is an employer of labour at his young age and given his level of exposure, he will not seat as the Chairman of the Youth Council and watch our youths waste away. God forbid!!!
As the journey builds up for the election and you consider your options, always keep the words of Nonso Smart Okafor in your heart, "Beck, I have known suffering and I comprehend what it means for one not to be privileged. I worked hard to provide for myself and give youths like me a reason to live. God willingly we get to the Council, I will never relent in giving more to our youths."
Till we get to the Promised Land, I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
